I have been extremely impressed by the standard of work and service by Greater Manchester TreeStation. Their willingness to meet my access & time constraints and their professional advice has been invaluable since we began working together in 2010. They have been flexible and accommodating around access restrictions and changes to delivery methods as the building works were completed. Fuel has been high quality, competitively priced, and delivered on demand with no delays or issues. Greater Manchester TreeStation always exercised great care in carrying out deliveries, both in relation to the biomass stores, and more importantly, to staff and pupils using the site. I have no problem in recommending the TreeStation to others.

It is so great getting my firewood from TreeStation. They are very flexible with delivery, and carefully leave the wood in the most convenient place. We are a small business based in Macclesfield specialising in handmade one off pieces of furniture. We also produce a range of cheese boards, wine racks and bowls. We strive to use the best timber we possible can. This is where Tree Station comes in! They always seem to everything I could ever want and more (and I often come away with more than I went to get!) The range of planked rough sawn wood is brilliant. Traceability of our wood is also very important. How many places can you go to and find out exactly where the tree grew and was felled and for what reason? At less than 18 miles away for us it is great to use such a fantastic knowledgeable local supplier. I will be using Tree Station for many years to come!

The TreeStation provides me with a lot of my timber for projects. They have a fantastic selection of hard and softwoods, and expertise to back it up. They help me to keep my environmental footprint small by buying local and avoiding importing.

I first spotted Treestation from the train and thought: what a great woodyard! Soon I was involved and I have bought well-seasoned local ash, elm, beech and sycamore for my furniture designs. I’m pleased to be using characterful timber that otherwise might go to waste – it fits my design philosophy of getting more from a tree in a sustainable way, minimising transport and fossil fuel use.

The Shake a Hula company makes hula hoops from natural materials at events and festivals. We use the TreeStation coppice wood to build our hoops: we have been able to discuss our requirements and we were supplied on time every time, which is critical for our events. We also bought kilned timber to build our festival tent structure and our steam box, which we were able to pick to our precise specifications. If you want something unusual rather than ‘off the shelf’ then the TreeStation is the place!

We are an event and festival company delivering wood related creative workshops to schools, community groups and festivals. To cover the wide variety of activities we offer to our clients, we use kiln dried wood, coppice wood, green wood, air dried wood, planked timber, and timber in the round supplied by the TreeStation. Nowhere else have we found all of this from one local sustainable source. We are very happy with the quality of the TreeStation’s products as well as their excellent customer service and flexibility.

We have been working with the TreeStation/Ecos since 2005, and as our needs have grown so too have the quality of service we are offered.  We mainly make hard wood chopping boards, and the designs are very specific, and require a particular quality of wood, the TreeStation offers us a unique service allowing us to dictate the milling of the wood to our requirements.  We have seen huge advances in sales over the past few years, and this has affected the quantity of the wood we need, TreeStation has met that demand with what appears to be no effort.  We have just secured a contract with John Lewis, and again the changes in our requirements have been met with no resistance.  Alongside our boards we create work in a vast variety of commissions, from yurts, to raised beds and decks, and to hand crafted cafe furniture and garden benches.  Every time TreeStation has worked alongside us, and provided a bespoke timber preparation process/service allowing us to create the style and individual work we produce.  We will continue to use the TreeStation, and advise anyone working in the wood industry to try them.

Mantree Designs makes bespoke and one off items of hard wood furniture, only made with locally grown sustainable timber, and influenced by the ideals of Japanese design and making. I have worked with Phil for over 10 years, and the product and service I receive is second to none, nowhere else can I select my boards so specifically, allowing me to get the true potential from each piece of wood, knowing that all my wood is from the local area, and even down to the specific location of the tree, has become essential to the way I operate and interact with my material, and indeed with my customers.

I design and make individual items of furniture in Chorlton. With thirty years experience in woodworking I have encountered a range of timbers with varying quality and the timber provided by TreeStation has a particular richness, beauty and individuality that is not matched by large scale producers. Given the choice and availability I would source all of my timber from Phil at the TreeStation. My products are supplied almost exclusively to local customers, which is an important principle for my business, alongside environmental sustainability. In my opinion timber which is grown and processed locally surpasses any of the current industry standards (FSC etc). For these reasons it is important that the materials I use are sourced locally and sustainably, and the TreeStation is an ideal supplier.

We first contacted The Tree Station for a quote for some tree work in our garden back in October 2014, they have been very helpful advising us on our options without any pressure. After making our decision we contacted them again a couple of weeks ago and they arranged to come and do the work very promptly. The work was carried out in a very professional manner over two days and I felt fully involved at every stage. The team were polite, courteous and caring and cleared up completely each day. As a recent customer I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ecos. I can truly say that it was a pleasurable experience from start to finish. The fully detailed quote for the works was quickly received and exact, communications were very friendly and all emails were quickly responded to. I was extremely happy with the work performed, the main work was to a crown lift and thin a large overgrown Lime tree, which now looks amazing and is a real asset to the street. Other trees were felled exactly as agreed, with the remains chipped and neatly bagged for future use in the garden.
