Whatever the complexity of your site, you can rely on TreeStation’s technical expertise to manage it safely, sensitively, and to a high standard.

Experts in sensitive and complex woodland management and forestry — from hazardous trees and windblow to difficult terrain — backed by a range of specialist machinery.

Tree Planting and Transplanting

Whether it’s a single specimen tree or a larger planting scheme, our team can plant, stake and establish new trees to give them the best possible start. We advise on species selection, planting method and aftercare, and can also relocate established trees where required.

Tree planting often forms part of a wider woodland management or habitat creation project: helping restock woodland, replace felled trees, or add new planting to a landscaping scheme.

Vegetation Management and Clearance

From overgrown scrub and invasive species to full site clearance ahead of development, our vegetation management team handles jobs of any scale using a mix of hand-cutting and specialist mechanised equipment.

We carry out sensitive clearance work with ecology in mind, and can advise on invasive species control, seasonal timing around nesting birds, and how to leave a site in the best condition for what comes next. All work is carried out by our fully qualified, insured team.

Habitat Creation

We design and install features that give local wildlife somewhere to thrive, from bird and bat boxes to bespoke habitat structures like hollows carved into living trees to provide years of habitiat for targeted species. Working alongside our woodland management and vegetation clearance work, we look for opportunities to leave a site better for nature than we found it: retaining deadwood habitat, creating log piles, or installing purpose-built features such as swift towers.

Habitat creation sits naturally alongside our wider ecology and woodland management services, and we’re happy to advise on what would work best for your site.

Phytophthora Ramorum Control

TreeStation has experience dealing with larch trees and rhododendron infected with Phytophthora ramorum, from felling through to final disposal. Infected larch stands often present technically demanding felling conditions: dense plantations, restricted access, and compromised timber. Our skilled team has the experience to fell efficiently and safely in these environments, including removing rhododendron infected with P. ramorum, an important host species in the spread of the disease, helping to limit further transmission across a site. We work with licensed carriers to transport infected material to our yard, where we hold a licence to process P. ramorum-infected larch, ensuring every stage of the work is carried out fully in line with biosecurity requirements.

Rhododendron Control

Beyond Phytophthora ramorum infected sites we also remove rhododendron more broadly to help restore native woodland habitats. Depending on the site, our approach may involve mechanical clearance, hand cutting, or a combination of both, with herbicide treatment applied to kill the roots and prevent regrowth, ensuring the work delivers a lasting result rather than a temporary fix.

Ash Dieback

Mature ash trees affected by ash dieback can become structurally unstable and dangerous, particularly as the disease progresses. TreeStation has the experience and fleet of mechanical options, including MEWPs and excavators fitted with grapple saws, to deal with these trees safely, reducing risk to our team and the surrounding area without compromising on quality.
