Set up in 2008, Greater Manchester TreeStation was established to reduce climate change by making the best use of tree work arisings.
TreeStation is an ethically and environmentally-minded social enterprise working across arboriculture, woodland management, landscaping and woodfuel production. Our yard gives Manchester's arborists a sustainable outlet for woodchip and logs that could otherwise go to waste, and our team turns that material into sustainable woodfuels, timber products, and woodchip for the local market.
TreeStation acts as a hub for a broad range of wood-related activities, such as woodland management operations, arboricultural work and consultancy. It also provides a local, unique and innovative green solution to wood waste for the Manchester area, and produces a range of quality wood products for the local market, including woodfuels, timber and related products.
Above all TreeStation is led by strong ethical views, which govern the way the business is run. Sustainability is embedded in the aims of the company. The TreeStation is a not-for-profit organisation, registered as Society for the Benefit of the Community (BenCom), making it both a democratic and accountable business.

Our objective is to benefit the community through environmentally sensitive arboricultural services, making the best possible use of all treework arisings. In practice, that means:
